Several years ago I got a telephone call from a guy who thought he would appraise the value of a CD I was selling for $39.95. He thought he would affix a value of $10.00 and I would jump at the chance to make something as opposed to losing the sale. He quickly discovered he was wrong. He also discovered an extremely valuable marketing lesson that he gladly paid much more for. And he was thrilled to do it!

How can you apply this to your marketing plan?

Britt Phillips I think everone was effected in some way by the craziness of 2008. The mortage crisis, gas crisis, and the bank issues etc. The economy rapidly went south. Every business owner felt the impact of it in some way. People lost their savings, their homes, their jobs and more. I expect many will still be trying to dig their way out of their 2008 losses at the end of 2009. On top of all the stuff we all had to put upo with in 2008 I lost my mother. It was especially tough.

Like most I put together my resolutions list which included among other things, making up for 2008 and being comitted to making 2009 my very best year to date. However here’s where my resolutions list and most everyone elses differs. Or I should say here’s what I’m doing as it relates to my list. We all know the two biggest resolutions on most lists are to lose weight and make more money. Intentions are great but without action and follow through, the list might as well never been written. So let’s take a look at how I’m doing with my resolution to make more money.

I decided to commit to generating some significant money in the early stages of 2009 so it would not only motivate me and jump start my year, it would also set the tone for the entire year in terms of personal short and long term goals. I’ve been one of the all time top income earners in a particualar business opportunity for several years. This program is a direct sales program. This means my income isn’t determined by how long I’ve been in the program or any complicated compensation plan which requires the planets to allign and many other people jumping through all sorts of hoops to have success. In other words I earn based on my personal efforts. I like it much better this way because I know I am dedicated and motivated. I do not want my ability to earn money dependant on anyone else because who knows how driven or serious another person ever truly is?

Have you ever wondered exactly what it is about those people who are already where you want to be in terms of success or personal achievement in one area or another? I mean do you really ever just look at them in general and wonder to yourself what exactly enabled them to surpass you along with everyone else like you who may have or may still aspire to be where they are? Do you think they were lucky? Do you think they were simply handed everything they have? Are you convinced they didn’t have to struggle or put even an once of effort into it? My questions here are all normal ones and yet for many, the questions themselves are troubling. They are troubling because the secret of getting what you want really comes down to an extremely simple concept of actually finding what want whether it be in business, love, and life.

The big buzz a while back centered around attracting the things you want through your own actions and beliefs etc. And I suppose that message is certainly still on point today. I’ve chosen to make it even easier to grasp and to ultimately understand. Many will claim there is some carefully hidden “secret” to fortune, fame, and an abundant life. In reality however there isn’t any secret. Look, when you peel away all the drama and really look carefully at the core of every person who is where you want to be, they all share one thing in common. And it’s this thing you must learn to embrace. The good news is it’s not difficult or impossible to do. However, many will once again try to convince you that it is and they will send you endless carefully crafted sales pieces each claiming to reveal the secrets of success to you.

The secrets are about to be revealed in this paragraph right now. I’m about to tell you what every person has in common and how you can start getting what you want right now. And no you don’t need to reach for your credit card. All you need to do is find what you want. Well you say… Britt that doesn’t make much sense to me. To which I would respond with I know. And unfortunately that’s the problem! You see the secret of finding is that you need to focus on finding ways to get what you want instead of the other ability that most have honed to an incredible degree of skill. I’m talking about excuses. Sure it’s much easier to find a list of excuses instead of ways to get what you truly desire. So the next time you have something in your sites, whether it be a better personal relationship, more money, or a better overall quality of life, be brutally honest with yourself and ask if you are doing a better job of finding excuses or ways to get what you want.

Britt Phillips says the secret to success is _______________.

Making serious money is not nearly as tough as most would have you belive. You need to work smart. Most waste their time working hard to the point they become frustrated and give up on their dreams.

I shot a few clips in my office last Sunday after church while I still had the suit on! I think they turned out pretty well. Video marketing is really big. Mainstream companies are spending millions to convert much of their ad dollars in to online video marketing campaigns. If you aren’t using video to spread the word about your product, service, event, opportunity etc., you are certainly going to be left behind. Always brand yourself and your video content for long term benefit.

Search engines absolutely love video content! One of the fastest methods of shooting to the top of the major search engines: Google, MSN, and Yahoo is to upload video clips to video sharing sites.
